Kawaguchiko momiji matsuri – Autumn leaves festival

In November, we have “Momiji matsuri” which is Autumn leaves festival in Kawaguchiko.

What is momiji matsuri – Autumn leaves festival?

We have four seasons in Japan, and they have the characteristic every season clearly.
In Autumn, maple-leaves turn beautiful red and yellow.

In Kawaguchiko, you can enjoy the beautiful autumn-leaves at momiji matsuri.

There is a maple corridor in Kawaguchiko, and they are illuminated at night.

At momiji matsuri in Kawaguchiko, not only you can see beautiful autumn-leaves,
but also you can take pictures of Mt.Fuji and maple-leaves.

There are some small shops there, and sometimes you can watch
“Sarumawashi” which is Japanese style monkey show.

The price of momiji matsuri is free (it costs for parking).
I recommend you to go there on weekdays as possible, because it’s very crowded on weekend.

How to go to momiji matsuri – Autumn leaves festival?

To go to momiji matsuri, you can take the Retro Bus from Kawaguchiko Station
to the bus stop for Itchiku Kubota Art Museum.

It takes only few minutes by walk.

I also recommend to go there by bicycle.
It takes approx 30 minutes by bicycle, but the journey before arriving there is also enjoyable!
