Winter fireworks at Kawaguchiko in 2017. Photo taken by Sota Kajihara
We have winter fireworks every year at Kawaguchiko.
It’s so beautiful because the sky in winter is very clear!
If you like to take pictures, it’s a great chance because it’s difficult
to take pictures of Mt.Fuji, a lake, and fireworks together at other places.
The period of winter fireworks at Kawaguchiko
The period of winter fireworks at Kawaguchiko is from January 13th to February 18th in 2018.
Winter fireworks are launched on every Saturday and Sunday,
and February 23rd (Friday) which is Mt. Fuji day during this period, and total 13 times.
The time is 20 minutes, from 8:00 PM ~ 8:20 PM.
The place where winter fireworks are launched
The main venue of winter fireworks at Kawaguchiko is Oike Park,
and they are launched from Tatamiiwa, and Yagisaki Park as well.
*You can’t enter to Yagisaki park in 2018 because of construction.
You can take a bus (red or green line) from the station and get off
at Kawaguchiko Herb Hall and only few minutes walk,
but it takes only 15 minutes walk from the station even though you don’t use a bus.
It’s very cold in winter at Kawaguchiko, so I recommend you to go
to “onsen” – hot springs after seeing winter fireworks to make your body warm.
I hope you’ll enjoy winter fireworks at Kawaguchiko!
