Belongings for Mt.Fuji climbing [Required item]

When a person who does not usually climbs plans to climb Mt. Fuji, you have trouble wondering what to bring? So today I would like to write about “Belongings for Mt.Fuji climbing [Required item version]”.

・Back Pack

I think that there are many people who are planning to climb Mt. Fuji by staying in a mountain hut for 1 night. For climbing Mt. Fuji overnight, about 30 liters of back pack is suitable. The point is that “the waist belt is securely equipped”. A solid waist belt not only makes you feel light weight, it is also important in terms of safety.

・Rain cover for back pack

In Mt.Fuji climbing, the weather changes easily. Even if the weather forecast is sunny, it is necessary to prepare for rain. There are many people who have rain wear for human properly, but there are many people who do not have a rain cover for back pack. If Zach gets wet and spare clothes gets wet, there is even a danger of life at times. Some back pack are equipped with rain covers as standard equipment, but in case of back pack not equipped, it is necessary to prepare them separately. If you rent back pack with “Soranoshita”, we will put a back pack cover free of charge.

・Rainwear

As explained earlier, when climbing Mt. Fuji, no matter how the weather forecast is good, be sure to bring rain wear. Even if it does not rain it can be used as a windbreaker. In Fuji climbing, be sure to take the upper and lower sets of jacket and pants. It is better to have a hood. Things made of breathable material like Gore-Tex’s material are comfortable. Those wearing like ponchos and types like coats that do not have pants are useless and dangerous because they will fierce with the wind.

・Headlight

For those who want to see the sunrise at the summit or who plan to walk at night, a headlight that can be worn on the head is necessary.
Avoid hand-held flashlights, as their hands are blocked.

・Trekking shoes

For Mt.Fuji climbing, prepare trekking shoes (light climbing shoes). Ordinary sneakers are not good. If you go by sneakers, you will feel “OK” at the beginning, you will definitely regret later.

・Socks

Thick and quick-drying climbing socks are desirable, but for skiing etc., it’s okay.

・Warm clothes

The summit of Mt. Fuji is almost the same temperature in the middle of summer as Tokyo’s midwinter. Waiting for sunrise at the summit of Mt. Fuji is like an image like “It is blowing in the wind for several hours at the mid-winter morning.” Be sure to prepare winter clothes such as down jacket or fleece jacket that you can wear under rain wear.

・Trekking pants

Avoid cotton trousers at mountaineering, not only at Mt.Fuji climbing. Because there is no elasticity, you may be tired with less freedom of feet. Also, since it is heavy and hard to dry when wet, it is not suitable for climbing. Stretchy, quick-drying chemical fiber trekking pants are best. In the case of short trousers and climbing skirts, please wear support tights etc. always for injury prevention and cold weather.

・Shirt (middle wear)

When climbing Mt. Fuji, in the most worn state, it is recommended to lay the 4 pieces of ① underwear ② middleware ③ warm clothes ④rainwear from the part close to the skin. Middleware is non-cotton material, long sleeve shirts that are not too thick or long-sleeved T-shirt would be good.

・Under wear

Quick-drying dry shirt for sports etc. is good. Though cotton material has high water absorbency, it is hard to dry, so it does not suitable so much for mountaineering where the temperature changes drastically.

Clothes for changing

Let’s take underwear and socks, assuming it will get wet in the rain. This extra clothing item is enough.

・Hat

Because ultraviolet rays are strong, a hat with a big brim is good. There is a chinstrap not to fly by the wind, a water repellent climbing hat is good. Also, waiting for the sunrise, the ear will be cold, so it is good to have a knit cap.

・Gloves

The summit is at the same temperature as midwinter, and gloves are essential in order not to get hurt when falling or using hands. It is very cold when it gets wet, so it is better if it is waterproof or water repellent.

・Water or drink

You can buy water at the mountain hut of Mt. Fuji, but it is recommended that you bring two 500 ml. It is very convenient to take water supply called hydration, which can drink water without using hands.

・Energy food

Try taking bananas and balanced nutritious foods and sweets of portable type that are individually wrapped so that you can frequently refill energy. Those who eat at the mountain hut do not need a box lunch, but those who are not will need a box lunch.

・Map

Please bring a map for Mt.Fuji climbing. I think that quite a person does not have it.

・Medicines

If you take it with a fever reducer, pain stop, it will be useful in case of emergency.

・First-Aid kit

Taping, emergency bandages, disinfectants, etc.

・Tissue paper

There may be no toilet paper, so type of tissue soluble in water is good. It is convenient to have wet tissue as there is almost no place to use water.

・Plastic bag

When climbing Mt. Fuji, we must bring garbage home. You can also use a plastic bag to keep your belongings from getting wet.

・Towel

Temperature change is intense, so let’s wipe sweat frequently.

・Money

Mountain hut fee, meal fee, water fee, toilet fee, transportation fee, souvenir fee, Mt. Fuji conservation cooperation fund etc. At Mt. Fuji, all the toilets are charged (once = several hundred yen). Also, when you buy water at the mountain hut after you start climbing, it costs more to transport, so it is higher than the middle of town, so let’s have more coins.
